Start Where You Are
Finding the right support
You do not need to know exactly what kind of therapy you need before contacting a psychotherapist. Sometimes you know the issue immediately. Other times, you simply know that you have been struggling and want something to change.
For example, anxiety may appear alongside a difficult life transition. Depression may develop while you are coping with unresolved trauma. Experiences from military service or first responder work may affect your relationships, mood, or ability to feel at ease long after the immediate situation has ended.
Mental and emotional concerns often overlap.
That is why I believe it is important to begin by listening to what you are experiencing rather than expecting your concerns to fit neatly into one category. My psychotherapy services provide a place to explore those experiences with compassion and without judgment.

01 / Trauma and PTSD Therapy
Trauma and PTSD Therapy
Trauma can affect people in many ways. A distressing experience may influence your thoughts, emotional responses, relationships, sleep, concentration, or sense of safety. You may find yourself avoiding reminders of what happened or experiencing emotions that seem difficult to control or explain.
I provide trauma and PTSD therapy for individuals who want a supportive place to examine how traumatic experiences are affecting their lives.
Talking about trauma can feel intimidating, especially if you have spent a long time trying not to think about certain experiences. I recognize the sensitivity involved in these conversations and strive to provide an environment where you feel respected throughout the process.
My goal is to give you room to discuss what you are experiencing without feeling pressured to tell your entire story before you are ready.

02 / Anxiety and Depression Therapy
Anxiety and Depression Therapy
Anxiety and depression can affect everyday life in ways that may not always be obvious to others.
Anxiety can involve persistent worry, fear, tension, or a sense that your mind rarely slows down. Depression can involve sadness, low motivation, emotional exhaustion, or feeling disconnected from people and activities that once mattered to you.
Sometimes anxiety and depression occur together. They may also appear alongside trauma, relationship difficulties, stressful circumstances, or major changes.
I provide anxiety and depression therapy where you can talk openly about what you are feeling and how those emotions are affecting your life. Psychotherapy offers dedicated time to examine your concerns, better understand your emotional experiences, and consider what you would like to change.

03 / Therapy for Life Transitions
Therapy for Life Transitions
Life can change quickly, and even anticipated changes can bring complicated emotions.
A shift involving work, relationships, family, identity, loss, or another significant part of your life can leave you uncertain about what comes next. You may feel pressure to adapt quickly while privately struggling with fear, grief, frustration, or confusion.
Therapy for life transitions provides a place to slow down and process those changes.
I work with individuals who are navigating significant transitions and want support understanding what they are feeling, what the change means for them, and how they want to approach the next stage of life.
You do not need to minimize a transition simply because other people believe you should be able to handle it. If a change is affecting your emotional well-being, it deserves attention.

04 / Sexual Trauma and Compulsive Sexual Behavior
Sexual Trauma and Compulsive Sexual Behavior
Sexual trauma and compulsive sexual behavior can involve experiences that feel especially private or difficult to discuss. Shame, fear of judgment, uncertainty, or previous experiences of not feeling understood can make reaching out for support more challenging.
My practice is intended to provide a welcoming environment where sensitive concerns can be addressed with dignity and respect.
You do not have to present your experiences in a particular way or have the right words immediately. Therapy can begin with what is affecting you now and provide space to explore more as you become comfortable doing so.
I approach conversations involving sexual trauma and compulsive sexual behavior without judgment. My goal is to create a setting where you can speak honestly about your experiences and the ways they may be influencing your emotional well-being, relationships, and everyday life.

05 / Veteran and First Responder Trauma
Veteran and First Responder Trauma
Veterans and first responders may experience situations through their service or work that are intense, distressing, or traumatic. The impact of those experiences may continue after a deployment, emergency, incident, assignment, or career has ended.
You may also be accustomed to operating in environments where remaining focused and composed is necessary. That can sometimes make it difficult to acknowledge when experiences are continuing to affect you emotionally.
I provide psychotherapy for veterans and first responders navigating trauma and related concerns.
My practice offers a private, respectful place to talk about experiences connected to military service or first responder work and how they may be affecting your life today. You do not need to justify why an experience has affected you or compare your response with anyone else's.
A place to be honest
A Judgment-Free Approach to Psychotherapy
One principle connects every area of my practice: you deserve to be able to talk about your experiences without feeling judged.
When the concern involves trauma, addiction, depression, or another deeply personal issue, fear of judgment can become a significant barrier to seeking help. You may have kept certain thoughts or experiences to yourself because you were unsure how another person would respond.
I want therapy to provide room for honesty.
My role is to listen, understand what you are experiencing, and provide a supportive environment where you can explore the concerns affecting your life. I approach each person as an individual rather than making assumptions based solely on the reason they initially sought therapy.

Beginning Therapy
When Should You Consider Psychotherapy?
There is no single point at which you are supposed to seek therapy. You do not need to wait until you are in crisis or until an emotional concern has disrupted every part of your life.
You may consider psychotherapy when difficult memories continue to affect you, anxiety feels difficult to manage, depression interferes with daily life, or a transition leaves you feeling overwhelmed or uncertain. You may also be ready to discuss trauma, addiction, or experiences you have carried privately for a long time.
Sometimes the reason is simpler: you recognize that you are struggling and want a dedicated place to talk.
That is enough reason to reach out.
